Terms & Conditions

At Universal Mattresses, we are committed to delivering quality sleep solutions while maintaining complete transparency with our customers. These Terms & Conditions define the scope of warranty, exclusions, claim procedures, and responsibilities related to the use of Universal Mattresses products.

When you buy and use a Universal Mattress, you agree that you have read and accept the terms below.

1. Nature of Warranty: Prorated & Limited

Universal Mattresses provides a limited, prorated warranty that covers only manufacturing defects. The warranty depends on the mattress model and how it is used.

A prorated warranty means your coverage decreases over time as you use the mattress. This warranty does not guarantee a full replacement and only covers manufacturing defects.

2. Sagging, Crumbling & Natural Disintegration

Mattresses change over time from regular use, body weight, and the environment. These changes are normal and are not considered manufacturing defects.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Natural sagging
  • Crumbling of materials
  • Natural disintegration due to regular use
  • Normal wear and tear

Sagging Tolerance

Sagging of 15% or less is normal and not covered by the warranty. Only sagging beyond this, if found to be a manufacturing defect after inspection, may be considered.

3. Comfort Preference Disclaimer

Comfort is different for everyone. Mattress firmness, feel, and comfort can change over time based on how you use it and your personal needs.

Therefore:

  • Comfort preference or dissatisfaction is not covered.
  • Changes in firmness or feel are excluded.
  • Warranty does not apply to personal comfort expectations.

4. Transportation & Related Costs

The warranty coverage does not include transportation or logistics-related expenses. Any costs associated with moving the mattress for inspection, repair, or replacement are the customer's responsibility.

This includes:

  • Transportation charges for inspection purposes
  • Handling or service expenses related to repair or replacement
  • Any packing, courier, or other logistics-related costs

Universal Mattresses cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur during transportation, shifting, or relocation of the mattress.

5. Damage Caused by External Factors

At Universal Mattresses, the warranty does not cover damage caused by factors beyond our control. These are situations that result from external conditions or improper use rather than manufacturing issues.

This includes damage resulting from:

  • Fire or heat exposure, such as burns or damage caused by open flames or excessive heat.
  • Accidental incidents, including drops, impacts, or unintentional mishandling.
  • Structural support issues, such as using the mattress on a damaged bed frame or an inadequate support system.
  • Improper handling or misuse, including bending, folding, jumping on the mattress, or using it in ways not intende.
  • Unsuitable or uneven surfaces, where weak or unbalanced bases lead to uneven wear or damage.

Unfortunately, damage caused under these circumstances is not covered under the warranty, as it is not due to a manufacturing defect.

6. Authorized Dealer Purchase Requirement

The warranty is valid only if you buy your mattress from an authorized Universal Mattresses dealer.

If you buy a mattress from an unauthorized seller, reseller, or third-party platform, you cannot make a warranty claim.

7. Warranty Validity Conditions

Next, your warranty applies only when the conditions below are followed:

  • The mattress is purchased from an authorized dealer.
  • The original purchase bill/invoice is produced at the time of the claim.
  • The mattress has not been resold or transferred.
  • Mattress labels and side strips are intact and not removed.

If you remove or tamper with the labels or side strips, the warranty will no longer be valid.

8. Inspection Before Claim Approval

Authorized company staff must inspect all warranty claims. The inspection will decide if the problem is a manufacturing defect.

We cannot approve any claim without an inspection.

9. Final Decision Authority

All warranty claims are carefully reviewed by Universal Mattresses. Based on the evaluation, the company may approve or decline a claim and, where applicable, decide whether the mattress will be repaired or replaced.

To keep the process clear and consistent for everyone, the company’s decision on all warranty-related matters will be considered final.

10. Limitation of Liability

Universal Mattresses is responsible only for issues related to manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover additional or indirect losses that may occur while using the product.

This means the company is not liable for:

  • Incidental damages
  • Consequential losses
  • Indirect damages arising from product use

The warranty covers only manufacturing defects and is limited to repair or replacement, as determined by the company.

11. Jurisdiction

Any warranty-related claims or disputes arising under these Terms & Conditions will be subject to the jurisdiction of Chandigarh. This means that all such matters will be addressed and resolved exclusively within Chandigarh.

12. Customer Responsibilities

To keep your warranty valid and help your mattress last, please:

  • Use the mattress on a proper and supportive base.
  • Protect the mattress from moisture, stains, and physical damage.
  • Handle the mattress carefully during shifting or relocation.
  • Retain the original purchase invoice and warranty documentation.

If you do not follow these guidelines, your warranty may be rejected.

13. Final Authority

Universal Mattresses may inspect and review any warranty claim to confirm whether it meets warranty terms. Based on this review, we will decide if the mattress is eligible for repair or replacement or if the claim cannot be approved. This decision will be made fairly and in line with our warranty policy.
